The planets are the WHAT of the astrological language. They show the big themes and topics relevant to everyone’s life and as such are the actors that make things happen in our life.
The twelve zodiac signs are the HOW of the astrological language. They modify the planets and the houses by giving them specific characteristics. They show how the themes and topics in our life come about as well as the qualities of our different life areas.
The twelve houses are the WHERE of the astrolocial language. They show the areas of life in which the topics of the planets are unfolding. They aren’t necessarily a physical place (although they can be), but the metaphorical spaces in which something is happening.
Aspects show the relationship between two planets. They show how two planet’s topics interact, whether they work with or against each other.
Rulership
Rulership shows the natural connection between a planet and a sign and establishes whether a planet is well-off in a specific sign or not. This creates links between different topics and themes (planets) as well as links between different life areas (houses).
